CAMAS VALLEY — Umpqua Valley Christian defeated Glendale and Camas Valley and advanced to the final day of the Skyline League volleyball tournament Thursday night at CVHS.

The Monarchs (16-5 overall) lost a set to the Pirates (6-15), but prevailed 25-18, 23-25, 25-12, 25-18. UVC eliminated the Hornets (6-11) 25-6, 25-14, 25-8.

Layla Pappas had 20 assists for the Monarchs. Hannah Hull had 11 aces, Addison Weckerle contributed 11 kills and six aces and Eden Crouse had 10 kills.

Joy DeRoss had seven kills and Hailey Holmgren added four aces and five assists for Camas Valley. Bella Pool served 100 percent.

"We were without two starters tonight, so we didn't get to finish as strong as we would've liked," said Hornets coach Tresta Payne. "But I'm proud of the girls for making adjustments. We had good efforts from our young players."

Umpqua Valley Christian will face third-ranked North Douglas (23-5), the Skyline North regular season champion, at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Sutherlin High School.
