Roseburg wrestler Layne Van Anrooy was named the prep wrestler of the year at Sunday’s 65th annual Oregon Sports Awards in the Tiger Woods Center at Nike World Headquarters.

Van Anrooy, who will wrestle for Michigan, was up for two different distinctions at the awards ceremony. West Linn football player Tim Tawa won the Johnny Carpenter male prep athlete of the year award for the 6A/5A schools.

The Roseburg graduate won his fourth state title this year with a 49-0 record in the 160-pound weight class.
