SUTHERLIN — The Sutherlin girls soccer team stayed in the Sky-Em League title hunt Tuesday with a 2-0 win over Elmira.

The Bulldogs (8-3-1, 6-2-1 Sky-Em), who have won four straight and six of their last seven, sit one game behind Junction City (9-2-2, 7-1-1). The two teams will meet Thursday in Junction City in the regular season finale, with Sutherlin needing a victory to force a first place tiebreaker contest.

Megan Carrillo scored both goals for Sutherlin, delivering in the 44th minute and adding the final one in the 77th minute. Kirstyn Thomas assisted on the first goal and Eliza Sorenson assisted on the second goal.

Sutherlin coach Kevin Hunt praised his team's defense led by Haleigh Hudgins and Taylor Moser.

"We're really playing well right now," Hunt said.
