Poetry reading at Books Gallery on Tuesday

Books Gallery in Sutherlin will be hosting its monthly open mic night for poetry on Tuesday.

The store is located at 220 W. Central Avenue in Sutherlin. The free event begins at 6 p.m.

Fading Gray debuts at UACT Jan. 31

The Umpqua Actors Community Theater will perform Fading Gray 13 times beginning Jan. 31 at the Betty Long Unruh Theater, 1614 W. Harvard Avenue.

Tickets are $13 for adults and $6 for children.

Fading Gray is a Civil War drama written by local playwright Martin Follose.

The show will open at 7 p.m. Jan. 31 and continues with 7 p.m. shows every Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. matinees every Sunday through Feb. 24.

UACT will produce Shakespeare in Love March 28 through April 21. Auditions for that play have already been held.

Open Mic Night Feb. 2 at Henry Estate Winery

Local band River Rox will host Groundhog Day Open Mic Night on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Henry Estate Winery, 687 Hubbard Creek Road, Umpqua.

Local musicians interested in performing four to six song sets should register from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Performances begin at 6 p.m.

There is no charge to attend or perform. Wine, beer and light snacks will be available for purchase.
