PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Chendra, an elephant at the Oregon Zoo, is pregnant.

The Oregon Zoo says Chendra is 26-years-old and is due in late 2020. She is an Asian elephant.

The gestation period for elephants is around 22 months. KOIN reports Chendra came to Oregon in 1999. She was found as a young calf wandering alone near a palm oil plantation in Borneo.

Twenty-five elephants have been born at the Oregon Zoo since 1962.
