A Myrtle Creek man was arrested following a pair of thefts in southeast Roseburg Wednesday night.

Tenants of a residence in the 1200 block of Southeast Jackson Street returned home to find their home had been burglarized. Roseburg police deployed K9 Axel, who just a few blocks away alerted on the suspect.

Michael L. Hatton, 35, was found with property taken from the residence. During an investigation, police discovered Hatton had also stolen a bike from another residence in the area.

All property was returned to its proper owners.

Hatton was lodged in the Douglas County Jail on charges of first-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree theft, second-degree criminal trespass, possession of hydrocodone and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. Initial bail was set at $270,000.
