The Canyonville Area Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all of the local citizens, businesses and organizations that made for a joyful and blessed holiday season. Some of these holiday activities included the Canyonville Lion’s Club putting together and distributing 36 food baskets the Saturday before Christmas, the Downtown Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony between Ken’s Sidewalk Café and Canyonville Cigars and Cigarettes and hanging of the Christmas lights on Main Street and other streets in Canyonville.

The Canyonville Lion’s Club will be holding the annual Citizens of the Year banquet at Seven Feathers Casino Resort on Feb. 3. This event starts with a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets for this event are available at Jake’s Auto Center, Gordon’s Pharmacy and Gifts and Ken’s Sidewalk Café.

The Canyonville Farmers Market started indoors Jan. 3 at the Javelin Ormond Community Center, 110 Pine St., in Canyonville, and will continue indoors on Wednesdays 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through May. Vendors are needed for the indoor market. Please call Jerri at 541-643-3306 for more information. Senior Days in Canyonville continues to be on Wednesdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Javelin Ormond Community Center. They offer coffee, snacks, games and quilting activities for seniors.

The Canyonville Community Library is open Mondays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursdays 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library is operated by more than 40 volunteers and is run by The Friends of the Canyonville Library.

The Pioneer Days Committee is holding regular meetings to plan for the 2018 event. These meetings are held at Ken’s Sidewalk Café. Please contact Doug Sales at 541-218-2185 for more information about meeting dates and times.

The chamber is in the planning and investigation process to put hanging baskets on power poles along Main Street from Seven Feathers through downtown Canyonville. Please see our website at canyonvillechamber.org to keep up on our local updates on current events.
