I started working from home in 2013 and over the next couple of years I gained quite a bit of weight. I was always home and always around food. I was exhausted all the time. I felt sick. I started having horrible migraines three or more times a week. My face was broken out all the time. My body was just sick.
I finally got sick and tired of being tired and sick. So at the beginning of 2017 I decided I needed to change what I was doing. I tried many different things — I cut sugar, I counted calories, I started exercising. And all of these helped with my weight loss, but I didn’t really feel any better.
The best thing I did was start a plant-based diet. I completely cut out dairy, eggs, and meat and that’s when the weight started really coming off. After being strictly plant based for four months, my health drastically improved. I started sleeping better, I had more energy, my acne started clearing up, my and my migraines aren’t as severe or as often as they used to be.
Now, I occasionally eat meat and dairy, but it’s not very often. After not eating it for a while it has a different effect on your body when you do start eating it again.
