Four Roseburg teens who allegedly vandalized vacant houses in the 1200 block of Hawthorne last week, were cited for their crimes Monday.
Two of the teens— both 13 years old — were arrested and taken to juvenile detention after they were caught on security footage and identified by neighbors, according to Roseburg police.
The other two were cited for second-degree criminal trespass and released to their parents.
Police said all four teens admitted to being in the houses on May 11, but two were responsible for most of the damage which included yellow spray paint on the walls, broken light fixtures and broken glass.
Roseburg police Sgt. Dennis Chrisenbery said officers came upon the video and subsequently did a neighborhood canvas to identify the suspects.
"That's how we're able to make these cases," Chrisenbery said, "People are paying attention."
The two 13-year-olds were charged with second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and third-degree theft.
