Police cited a Roseburg man after he was seen walking around town with a sword and a rifle.

Brandon Wesley Cook, 38, told police he was attacked by four people at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Christmas Eve in the 1400 block of Southeast Stephens Street. But instead of contacting police, Cook allegedly went to his house, retrieved a sword and a realistic-looking airsoft rifle, and went looking for the people who had ambushed him.

In the process of looking, however, police said Cook was wandering around and yelling he was going to shoot people, scaring those who were passing by.

At one point, police said Cook pointed the gun at other people in the area.

Officers seized the sword, the gun, and arrested Cook on suspicion of second-degree disorderly conduct and menacing. He was cited and released.
