A Roseburg man was arrested Sunday for driving under the influence and refusing to take a breath test at the jail.

Beau Jonathan Hanlin, 25, was in the 3000 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway cursing, yelling and refusing to leave, police said.

He was contacted by police earlier and told not to drive because he appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance, according to police.

But Hanlin drove anyway and was arrested around 1 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants and refusing to provide a breath test.

Hanlin is the son of Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin.
