The Roseburg Police Department has arrested a 17-year-old male Wednesday in connection with the Tuesday robbery of a Dutch Bros. coffee kiosk on Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard.
Police did not release the name of the juvenile.
Sgt. Jeff Eichenbusch of the Roseburg Police Department said the suspect was wearing a mask, displayed a firearm and demanded cash from an employee at approximately 7:15 p.m.
The employee cooperated with the suspect’s demands, and the suspect was seen running north on Fulton Street.
A police K-9 team responded and attempted to track the suspect, but the dog was unable to locate the teenager.
During the investigation, police identified the 17-year-old as a potential suspect, contacted him at his home and later arrested him in connection to the robbery.
The teen was taken to the Douglas County Juvenile Detention Center after the arrest.
This isn’t the first Dutch Bros. attempted robbery.
In March, three Roseburg Dutch Bros. locations — on Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard, Northwest Stewart Parkway and Northeast Stephens Street — were robbed. In 2010, a Dutch Bros. barista in Eugene shot and killed an armed robber after the intruder momentarily looked away while holding the barista at gunpoint inside a Franklin Boulevard coffee kiosk near the University of Oregon.
