Umpqua Community College's annual Early Childhood Care and Education Conference will be held Oct. 26 and 27 at the Danny Lang Teaching, Learning, and Event Center on the main UCC campus.

This year's featured speaker is a preschool through twelfth-grade educator, author, adjunct instructor and consultant Dr. Kendra Coates. Coates is the author of "Growing Early Mindsets," which integrates growth mindset, social and emotional learning and mindful principles and practices for preschool through third grade.

“There are many workshops including nutrition and healthy activities,” said John Fett, the college's training services coordinator. “We are very excited about this year’s program and providing a local continuing education option for early childhood and childcare providers.”

Registration is $59 through Monday and $75 after. Groups of three or more receive a 15 percent discount.
