The City of Winston has a new opening to fill on its city council. At their regular meeting Monday night, the Winston City Council declared a vacancy for city councilor Ward I.
The seat was formerly occupied by Lenny Huiras, who will be moving out of the area. Huiras’ term is set to expire on Dec. 31, 2024.
A map showing the position’s boundaries and an application can both be found on the WinstonCity.org website. Applicants must reside in Ward I for at least 12 months prior to the date of appointment and be willing to contribute up to 10 hours per month.
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit a resume listing their qualifications, interests and why they want the position, along with the application.
The first deadline for applications is July 8, at 5 p.m. For more information, contact city hall.
