The Douglas County Global Warming Coalition and the Common Ground Coalition are hosting a public rally against climate change from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The demonstration will be held in front of Fred Meyer along Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard, and end with a rally in front of the Bureau of Land Management, also on Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard.

The rally is being held on the same day as demonstrations planned around the world to speak out about climate change and its effects, including an increase in wildfires and unprecedented heat waves.
