The Douglas County Parks Department has temporarily closed the crab and fishing dock at Windy Cove County Park in Winchester Bay for repairs.

Planned improvements include replacing a landing area that has been closed to the public for safety reasons. Decking will also be replaced and repaired. Life rings and access ladders will be installed to improve safety.

The dock is scheduled to reopen in July.

The cost of repairs has been estimated at $568,000, and will be paid for by park user fees and a $202,000 grant from the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund.
