Douglas County Commissioner Chris Boice stands outside Discovery Point RV Park at Winchester Bay. The county purchased the park March 22, 2018.

The Douglas County Parks Department will hold an open house meeting in Roseburg Thursday to kick off redevelopment planning for the Umpqua Dunes RV Park in Winchester Bay.

The town hall will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Room 310 of the Douglas County Courthouse, 1036 SE Douglas Ave.

The meeting will begin with a short presentation, followed by an opportunity for the public to provide feedback and ask questions.

The county purchased the park, formerly known as Discovery Point RV Park, from private owners in March, and intends to transform it into a money maker for the county parks department.
