The Douglas County Board of Commissioners will interview interim county commissioner finalists Tim Allen and Chris Goodwin on Monday.

One will be chosen to temporarily replace Gary Leif, who resigned in order to take the job of interim representative for House District 2. The interim commissioner will serve until the end of the calendar year, after which the winner of the November commissioner election will take over.

Each interim commissioner applicant will be interviewed separately and given 30 minutes to respond to interview questions. The interviews will be public, but no audience questions will be taken. The interviews begin at 9 a.m. Monday in Room 216 of the Douglas County Courthouse, 1036 SE Douglas Ave., Roseburg.

The commissioners will use the applicants’ August public presentations, along with submitted applications and Monday’s interviews to make their choice. A final decision is expected Sept. 19.
