SALEM — Oregon House Speaker Dan Rayfield announced committee assignments for the 2023 legislative session, which will start Jan. 17.
For House members who represent parts of Douglas County, assignment include:
David Brock Smith, District 1, was selected as vice chair of the Climate, Energy and Environment Committee. He was also placed on the Agriculture, Land Use Natural Resources and Water Committee and on the Housing and Homelessness Committee. For Joint Committees, Brock Smith will be on the Ways and Means Committee and on its Natural Resources Subcommittee.
Virgle Osborne, District 2, was selected for the Business and Labor Committee, the Climate, Energy and Environment Committee and the Economic Development and Small Business Committee.
Christine Goodwin, District 4, will be the vice chair of the Behavioral Health and Health Care Committee. She will also serve on the Joint Ways and Means – Human Services Subcommittee.
