Firefighters from Douglas County Fire District No. 2 work to extricate a passenger from a van that crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer early Sunday on northbound Interstate 5 near milepost 131.

One lane remains closed on northbound Interstate 5 near milepost 131 following an early morning crash that sent three people to the hospital.

Shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday, multiple law enforcement agencies and first responders responded to a report of a crash involving a white van into the back of a tractor trailer. 

At least three people were reportedly injured. The cause of the crash or extent of the injuries were not immediately available.
