When social distancing guidelines were laid out in April, I decided that a redo of the Beattles’ Abbey Road album cover was a great way to show what 6 feet apart looks like. I quickly discovered that it’s very hard for people to maintain a 6-foot separation at anytime, even when they’re trying.
As I listened to Douglas High School senior Janis Faldalen answer questions before a drive-thru graduation in June, I could not help but be impressed by her enthusiasm and overall happiness. I decided she would be my primary focus as each graduate passed in front of the school that rainy Saturday, The look of happiness on her face during that rainy day during a pandemic was the perfect payoff for me.
This assignment from January reminded me of what life was like before the coronavirus pandemic was declared in March.
