Douglas County sheriff

9:13 a.m. — Someone stole a chainsaw from a work site in the 6000 block of Kent Creek Road, Winston.

12:07 p.m. — House looks like its front door has been kicked in and there are syringes outside in the 600 block of North Main Street, Canyonville.

2:30 p.m. —Caller came home from a trip and found her home’s doors open in the 600 block of Hoover Hill Road, Tenmile.


4:59 a.m. — Car crashed off the road on Interstate 5 near milepost 163, Curtin.

3:13 p.m. — Food truck had a turkey fly through the windshield in the 14000 block of North Umpqua Highway, Roseburg.

5:19 p.m. — U-Haul truck looked as if it was exiting the freeway when it crashed into the concrete divider on Interstate 5 near milepost 108, Myrtle Creek.


1:18 p.m. — Fire reported in the 200 block of Brown Street, Glide.


The News-Review publishes the names of individuals who have been arrested on suspicion of at least one felony charge or three misdemeanors or a combination of felony and misdemeanor charges.


Douglas County sheriff

Dixie Nadine Ballweber, 41, of Roseburg, on suspicion of methamphetamine possession, two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, harassment and fourth-degree assault.

Myrtle Creek police

Megan Dyanne Wendel, 33, of Myrtle Creek, on suspicion of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, third-degree theft, methamphetamine possession, a felony probation violation and providing false information to a police officer.
