A Coos Bay man died Monday morning after a logging accident in the Galagher Canyon area off Highway 138 W, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. 

Around 10 a.m. police received a call about an accident off of Galagher Canyon Road.

James Jarrett, 49, died at the scene after getting caught in a piece of logging equipment owned by LA Logging, a Coquille-based logging contractor, according to the sheriff's office.

The Oakland and Kellogg Fire Departments responded to the scene to help free Jarrett from the equipment.
