The Roseburg man accused of sexually abusing two female relatives under 12-years-old pleaded not guilty in Douglas County Circuit Court Monday.

Stephen John Jones, 35, was charged with four counts of first-degree sex abuse, two counts of first-degree sodomy and incest.

Police initially began investigating Jones on May 21 when a relative reported that an 11-year-old girl had accused Jones of touching her inappropriately.

According to court documents, Jones admitted to touching the girls in electronic messages.

During a forensic interview, one of the girls said the abuse happened in January or February.

His trial is set for Dec. 18.

"Jones admitted to touching the girls in electronic messages". I'm not sure how you touch someone with just an electronic message. Wouldn't he have to physically be there? Anyway, sentence structure is important, especially for a news article.
