A 27 year-old Sutherlin man was arrested after trying to flee from deputies in a stolen car.

Detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team saw a stolen white Acura on Interstate 5 around 1 p.m.

A deputy with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office caught up with the car and tried to pull Matthew Allen Bay over near Northwest Mulholland Drive and Northwest Cecil Avenue.

Bay fled from the deputy. The vehicle pursuit ended near the overpass on Northwest Stewart Parkway, where Bay fled on foot.

The deputy and DINT detectives chased Bay near the freeway and eventually took him into custody.
