Motorists should expect nighttime delays next week due to repair work on the Stewart Parkway Bridge over the South Umpqua River.

Starting Tuesday, April 25, traffic on the bridge will be limited to a single lane from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. for three consecutive nights. Flaggers will provide traffic control. Pedestrians may also experience brief delays crossing the bridge.

Nearby residents should expect nighttime noise consistent with bridge construction.

The project will clean the surface of the bridge deck, repair minor damage, apply a deck seal and replace compression joints. Some additional night work may take place this summer.

Construction on the Stewart Parkway Bridge is part of a $1.35 million bundle that will repair the decks of 21 bridges in southern Oregon. Guido Construction of Roseburg is the prime contractor.
