Retired United States Marine Corps Sgt. Eugene Attaway and his wife Lori Attaway of Roseburg participate in a Wreaths Across America event at the Roseburg National Cemetery Annex in 2016.

The Roseburg National Cemetery will host Wreaths Across America, a holiday wreath-laying ceremony.

The ceremony will be held at noon Dec. 15 at the Roseburg National Cemetery Annex, 913 NW Garden Valley Blvd.

The ceremony, which is held across the country, began with the Worcester Wreath Company of Harrington, Maine, which began donating holiday wreaths to the Arlington National Cemetery since 1992.

Since 2006, the wreaths have also been given as a tribute to veterans laid to rest at national and state veterans cemeteries across the country.

The Patriot Guard Riders are coordinating the event, which will honor veterans from each branch of the military, along with the Merchant Marines, prisoners of war and those still missing in action.
