Rolland E. “Stew” Stewart of Roseburg, Oregon, left his loving family on Sept. 3, 2021. He was born on Feb. 22, 1934, in Ashland, Ohio, to the late George Daniel “Dan” and Elizabeth “Grace” Roland Stewart.

He graduated from Ashland High School in 1952, where a major highlight of his youth was to co-captain in the 1951 undefeated football team. He gained a football scholarship to the Ohio State University where he played under Coach Woody Hayes.

He worked as a branch manager at Huntington Bank in Ashland and retired from the U.S. National Bank in Oregon, in 1993. Stew married Carol J. Brown in 1987. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and cheering for the Buckeyes.

Surviving is his wife Carol, children; Krista L. Scott of Ashland, Ohio, Michael E. Stewart, of Green Valley, Arizona, grandchildren; Michelle R. Scott Bass (William), of Sims, North Carolina, Erik M. (Megan Salisbury) Scott of Kenai, Alaska, great-grandchildren; Vera G. Bass, Ayla L. Scott, and nephews; Daniel, Jeffery, and Patrick Stewart. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Daniel G. Stewart.

There will be no services per his wishes.
