Ronald E. Gilbreath, age 77, of Roseburg, passed away on Dec. 31, 2021, at home. He was born on May 8, 1944, in Modesto, California, to Ronald and Ruby Gilbreath. Ron was raised in California, both in Fairfield and Fresno, graduating from high school in Fresno. He joined the Air Force, working on the missile program mainly in Germany during the Vietnam War.

Ron spent 35 years as a tanker driver and enjoyed being on the road. Ron was married to Linda, and he welcomed Deborah as a daughter. He was a member of the Roseburg Lions Club and Roseburg Elks Lodge, and in both groups, he was always willing to help others and do what had to be done. Ron and Linda moved to Roseburg from California in 2005; it was here that he began volunteering at Saving Grace.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Linda; daughter, Tina Sweeney of California; daughter, Deborah Rodrigues (Jim), and grandson Jordan; as well as his sister, Carole, of Corvallis.

Military Honors will be rendered at the VA National Cemetery in Roseburg. Arrangements in the care of Umpqua Valley Funeral Directors, 541-537-9300.
