Community kitchen thrives because of public

After two challenging years, both personally and publicly, I want to show St. Francis Community Kitchen cooks and volunteers gratitude for the generosity of the Ford Family Foundation and private donors have supported our kitchen to serve well over 120 meals every Monday and Wednesday from 3-4:30 p.m. at 323 N. Comstock St. in Sutherlin. Our budget has doubled and the number of meals served has tripled over these past two years. The generosity, volunteerism and caring of so many people in our community is an inspiration to our organization. I want our community to know how many great citizens are working to further the health, welfare and rights to those of our citizens who need our support, respect and effort to get back on their feet after such challenging events through no fault of their own. Thank you Douglas County for caring and anyone who wants to come out to help is welcome! Keep making our community a better place to live!
