WINCHESTER — Freshman guard Talon Valdes led three Umpqua Community College players in double figures with 17 points and the Riverhawks defeated College of the Siskiyous 89-64 in the Umpqua Invitational on Friday.

Valdes also added a game-high five assists. Jake Sampson had 14 points and five rebounds and Nathan Webb contributed 13 points for the Riverhawks (2-0).

UCC shot 54% from the field and 45% from 3-point range. Sampson and Valdes combined for seven 3-pointers. The Riverhawks outrebounded COS 36-22.

Braeden Watts led the Eagles with 17 points.
