DIXONVILLE — Jazon Ames and Sean Simonson both posted season highs in scoring, leading Umpqua Valley Christian to a 70-50 Skyline League North Division boys basketball victory over visiting Days Creek Friday.

Ames hit five 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 25 points, and Simonson hit four triples to finish with 23 points. Josh Luther also hit double figures with 10 points for the Monarchs (5-4, 2-1 Skyline North).

UVC blew the game open with an 18-4 scoring run in the second quarter.

Greg Reedy led the Wolves (3-7, 1-1 North) with 19 points and Keith Gaskell chipped in 12.

Days Creek is set to visit Yoncalla Tuesday.
