BANDON — The Oakland boys basketball team couldn't finish the deal on the road, falling 54-51 to Bandon in overtime in a Valley Coast Conference game on Tuesday night.
The Tigers (12-7, 7-3 VCC South) outscored Oakland 5-2 in the extra session, with Owen Brown scoring three points and Eli Freitag sinking two free throws.
Dylan Kamph led Bandon with 19 points and Brown added 18.
Sophomore point guard Joseph Fusco had 26 points, six steals and five rebounds for the Oakers (15-3, 8-2 South). Fusco made four 3-pointers. Brayden Bridges contributed five points and five rebounds, and sophomore Gabe Williamson scored five. The Oakers gave up 15 offensive rebounds.
"They just out-physicaled us," Oakland coach Jeff Clark said. "Credit to Bandon, they played good defense and played really hard. We didn't play as smart as we have been ... our shot selection was suspect at times and we had some turnovers down the stretch."
