RIDDLE — The Riddle Irish took a 24-2 lead after one quarter, then were able to let the reserves take it from there.

The Irish finished with a 42-22 Skyline League boys basketball win over Powers Tuesday, improving to 9-2 on the season and 4-0 in the Skyline South.

Jesse Myers led the Irish with nine points and Chase Greer scored eight. Seniors Konrad Pinch, Jacob Morris and Hayden Perez, all seeing their first varsity action of the season, combined for nine points.

"The younger kids were able to get a lot of playing time," Irish coach Russell Hobson said. "The varsity guys took a backseat tonight."

Henry Fandel was the top scorer for the Cruisers (0-7, 0-2 South) with six points.

Riddle is scheduled to play a nonleague contest at Illinois Valley Jan. 18.
