Lauren Sandfort follows the flight of her drive off the first tee during the first round at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis on Monday. Sandfort carded Roseburg's best round in the final round Tuesday with an 85.

CORVALLIS — Freshman Lauren Sandfort had the top round for Roseburg with an 18-hole score of 85 on Tuesday during the final day of the OSAA Class 6A girls golf tournament at Trysting Tree Golf Club.

The Indians finished eighth in the team standings with 711 strokes, shooting one stroke higher in the second round.

"Really happy for the girls and what a turnaround from last year," RHS coach Bruce Walker said. "At the end of last season if anyone would have told me that we would be 2018 SWC champions, win every conference tournament, and then go on to state and shoot our two lowest team scores of the season and place eighth at the state tournament … I would have thought they were crazy. But that person would have been a genius. It was a remarkable season and so pleased with the efforts of all six of the girls in the program."

Junior Alexandra Sandfort was Roseburg's low scorer for the tourney, tying for 32nd with a score of 167. Senior Avry Hansen (175) tied for 44th, Lauren Sandfort (177) tied for 48th, freshman Makayla Walker (192) tied for 68th and sophomore Taylor Hunt (252) was 84th.

"Makayla breaking 100 both days and shooting back to back scores of 96 was a real key for the team finishing in eighth," Walker said. "The girls posted our two lowest team scores of the season and as a team shot better than we did at the State Preview tournament hosted at the same course. A very successful season for the team and for all of the girls."

Senior Tya Seth of Lake Oswego and sophomore Alexa Udom of Westview shared the individual crown, each finishing at 142. Jesuit (603) won the team championship, nine strokes ahead of Westview.
