Roseburg High School’s girls golf team was in eighth place after the first day of the OSAA Class 6A state tournament Monday at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis.

The Indians were led by Alexandra Sandfort, who carded an 81 to tie for 25th place.

Avry Hansen shot an 86, Lauren Sandfort 92, Makayla Walker 96 and Taylor Hunt 128.

The top four scores count toward the team score.

Jesuit leads the team standing after the first day (303) followed by Westview (306) and Clackamas (311).

Tabertha Kang of Jesuit and Victoria Gailey of Tigard tied for first place with a 2-under-par 70. Lake Oswego senior Tya Seth shot a 1-under-par and Alexa Udom of Westview and Tannica Porter of Willamette tied for fourth place with an even-par 72.

The Tribe will tee off at noon Tuesday from hole 10. Hunt will start and the girls will start in nine minute increments with Alexandra Sandfort being the last Roseburg golfer to tee off at 12:36 p.m. They are paired with Sprague and Tigard.
