ELKTON — The Elkton softball team opened its season with a 15-0 win over Camas Valley in a Special District 4 game on Wednesday.
The contest was stopped after three innings due to the mercy rule.
Avree Block tossed a three-inning no-hitter for the Elks (1-0, 1-0 SD4), striking out six and walking none.
Mariah Kellam went 2-for-2 for Elkton. Block was 1-for-1 with a triple, two walks, three runs and two RBIs, and Alisha Shepherd and Camille Peters each scored three runs.
Elkton resumes league play at Days Creek Monday. C.V. (0-1, 0-1) travels to Riddle Tuesday.
