Grants Pass High football players gather around head coach John Musser after the Cavers completed practice in front of a hazy hillside at South Umpqua High School in Tri City last August. Although forest fires in Southern Oregon forced Grants Pass to move its outdoor practices north to South Umpqua, a survey by Southern Oregon University showed the poor air quality didn’t rouin tourists’ experiences in the region.

A survey conducted by the Southern Oregon University Research Center revealed wildfire smoke did not completely ruin tourists’ experiences in the region.
